I'm not your average Hausa girl. I can't tell you how wonderful I am, I can't tell you how dreadful I can be. One thing I can tell you is I am as flawed and multi-faceted as a Diamond. I call myself a "reform Muslim". I am almost a 100% non-conformist and I absolutely detest prejudice. PS: I am not so serious and uptight. I try to be so prim and proper but deep down inside, I know there;s a Susan Mayer waiting to be unleashed.

Inspiration

Far away,
I look to the sky,
amidst the sunshine,
I discern.
my highest aspirations,
anticipating, waiting for me.

I may not reach them,
that i know,
but I can look up
to appraise the beauty,
to believe in them,
to try to trail where they lead.

Our Love is...

Busy busy all the time and I'm still multi-tasking. (Time is so precious these days *sigh*) Wrote this while procastinating and it means a lot to me. I hope you understand it the way I do :). I really should finish this scientific report! Anyways...enjoy!!

Our love is…

Sturdy as the oak,
Sovereign of enchanted forests,
And we are,
But frail Catkins.

A dinky acorn,
Now a stout Bark,
That furls the love,
And bestows hope.

In a Spiral of vibrancy,
We are shielded,
Oh! Gypsy moth,
We shall not wilt…

Leaves that, come shine, come fall,
Will only pour forth to shoot,
For the zeal,
It must rekindle.

Say our love bears the symbol,
Symbol of the oak,
That of vigor and longevity.

Disclaimer

Greetings earthlings....Thank you so much for the comments. I don't wanna disappoint but it's pretty much downhill from there. I'm not that good a classical poet. In fact, I specialise in Limericks! So much so that I made it into the school magazine as a frequent limericks writer. What can I say I just love to talk in rhymes (which I do a lot to the annoyance of people around me :). I will try to improve tho. Wud also share some of my limericks here...

As the days go by...

Yesterday is gone
deeds cannot be changed
and words have become like broken eggs.

today has come,
and it is your friend.
so do what you can,
and do what you will...

but tread carefully,
for tomorrow is a stranger
who will come after today,
and today will become yesterday
where it will be sad to say,
'yesterday has gone...

can I retrace my steps?
can I take back my words?
then yesterday will be your enemy
just as today is your friend.

so tread carefully
for tomorrow is a stranger...
whether friend or foe,
you and I cannot today tell...
